Changing the firmware settings on the BeeLine GPS.
7/23/2006

The GPS module implements various filters in firmware to optimize location reporting.  The default mode is 'land' which is not optimal for tracking objects which change altitude rapidly.  The steps outlined below will change the default filter modes to the their proper values.

1) Download iq_monitor to your PC.

1a) Connect the serial port adapter to the 3-pin GPS engine interface connector on the right hand side of the board.  The connector should be oriented such that the DB-9 connector is to the right of the BeeLine GPS, and the 'empty' pins are towards the top and covering the surface mount crystal.

2) Execute iq_monitor.

3) Select the proper com port. (At this point, you should be getting data back from the GPS).

4) Click on Configure->GPS. Then select "air" for the dynamic code, Then click OK.
Window->Track Status can be very interesting to watch.

5) Click on Configure->Filters. Then UNCHECK all of the boxes. Then click OK.

6) Click on on Configure->Save to flash.
