The BeeLine Transmitter solves one of the biggest problems encountered while using other types of low power transmitter beacons, the frequency is user programmable! You no longer have to wonder who else is using 433.92Mhz, because you can program your beacon to any frequency you choose within the 70cm ham radio band. Click for a picture showing the assembled transmitter with antenna.
It's also very economical. No need for a dedicated receiver; use your FM scanner or hand-held ham radio! Add an easy to build Yagi antenna, and you're in business for a fraction of the cost of other systems.
(This picture shows the serial version of the programming interface (in yellow). While this is still available, the standard package deal contains a USB enabled programming interface board that includes an integrated battery charger).
Coupled with a lithium-poly battery lasting more than 48 hours, the entire unit weighs just 30 grams (1 oz). and fits inside a 29mm coupler tube (id= 1.14"). Even though a specialized charger is required, you will realize a cost savings after just a few flights vs. using expendable (and heavy) 9V alkaline batteries.
When assembled, the battery fits behind the transmitter, and the entire board is wrapped in protective heat shrink. The 1/4 wave whip antenna is 6.25" long.
